From 2009 - 2016, Dawn Johnson and her family passionate brought the best race of the season to Turner Valley - The Turner Valley Triathlon. The Johnson family cared deeply about creating an environment that was inclusive, supportive and fun for each participant. The race and the family was beloved by the whole community.

One year during heavy flooding in the area, Dawn and her family still managed to make the race happen and even donated portions of the race fees back to the community to help in the time of need.

In 2016, Dawn's daughter Juli took over as race director and once again the event was nothing but amazing! The Johnson's however had made the decision to move to BC and the Turner Valley Triathlon was retired.

After a few years of wishing that the Turner Valley Triathlon was still around, friends of the Johnson Family, Rose Serpico and Richelle Love are bringing the event back under a new name, The Diamond Valley Triathlon.

Rose and Richelle own Tri It Multisport (a triathlon store in Calgary, AB) and actually sponsored the Turner Valley Triathlon all 8 years. They have since also created an event company (RnR Premier Events) and put on a number of premium triathlon and running events.  They are so excited to have the opportunity to work with the town of Turner Valley who has been so welcoming and supportive.
